17. SMS Messaging & Communications

Paier operates an SMS notification program (the “Paier Notifications” program) to deliver account-related text messages to users who have provided their phone number and opted in. The following terms apply specifically to SMS communications.

Program Name

Paier Notifications

Description of Messages

Messages sent under this program include, but are not limited to: two-factor authentication (2FA) verification codes, account sign-in codes, peer-to-peer payment confirmations, payment requests, payment-received notifications, daily pay deposit alerts, bill payment reminders, and invitations from other Paier users to join the platform. Messages may contain URLs that link to the Paier application or payment claim pages. Paier does not send marketing or promotional SMS through this program.

How to Opt In

You opt in to receive SMS messages from Paier in one of two ways:

  1. By entering your phone number in our signup, login, or account verification forms on paier-ai.com or in the Paier mobile application and tapping “Send Code” (or a similar action button) to receive a verification SMS. This action constitutes explicit consent to receive SMS from Paier for authentication and account-related notifications.
  2. When another Paier user sends you a peer-to-peer payment, payment request, or invitation using your phone number, the sender has authorized that initial contact and Paier sends a single transactional SMS with a claim or join link.

Paier does not purchase, rent, or obtain phone numbers from third parties. All numbers are collected directly from the user or shared to them by another user of the Service.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity. You should expect to receive approximately one (1) SMS per authentication event (signup, sign-in, or account verification) and one (1) SMS per transactional event (payment sent/received, daily pay deposit, or bill reminder). Most active users receive fewer than ten (10) messages per month.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply, as charged by your mobile carrier. Paier does not charge you for SMS messages, but your carrier's standard SMS and data rates apply to all messages sent and received. Contact your mobile carrier if you have questions about your plan.

How to Opt Out — Reply STOP

You can opt out of the Paier Notifications SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message received from Paier. After you send STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message and will not receive further SMS from this program. To resume receiving messages, reply START or UNSTOP.

Help — Reply HELP

For help or questions about the SMS program, reply HELP to any Paier SMS to receive a response with support contact information, or contact our support team directly at support@paier-ai.com.
