Bob from Accounting
Everyone the money touches, and every tool that moves it, in one room.
Small businesses and the fractional CFOs, CPAs and bookkeepers who run them. Everyone else automates the books. We move the money, and the people it moves between are on the platform.

01The Problem
The tools that run a business have nowhere to meet.

A small business runs on a stack for payables, payroll, vendors and fraud, and none of them talk to each other. Worse, the people the money actually moves between, the employees, the vendors, the bookkeeper, are not in any of them. The work lives in an inbox instead. Meanwhile the profession has lost more than three hundred thousand accountants since 2019, so there are fewer people left to absorb it.

Six tools. Six silos. And not one of them has your vendor in it.
Each product is a part of your business vehicle. None of them drive it.
02What We Built
Meet Bob from Accounting.

One room for everyone the money touches, with the agent who does the busywork in the middle.

The owner, the team, the vendors and the finance pro are all on the same books, each with their own view. Bob reads, codes, drafts and chases. Nothing posts and no money moves without a human saying yes.

Scans email for invoices, catches duplicate bills and spoofed senders.
Codes expenses, runs payroll, routes surprise bills through Affirm.
The people who work there get early access to pay they have earned, plus bill pay and savings, free.

03Why This Team Wins
Matt Finkle, Founder and CEO
Matt Finkle
Founder & CEO
Both halves of the solution. The operator and the builder.
My superpower is walking into a domain I do not know, seeing how it actually works, and building a real business in it fast. Started a farm, events, and CPG business and exited in 2024. Got a real estate license in ten days and built a business in NYC from nothing.
Along the way I ran small businesses, made payroll, chased vendors, and lived the exact back office pain Paier solves.
With no engineering background I shipped the full live product in under thirty days, building with the same AI that runs it.
One person who is the customer and the builder at once, moving faster and closer to the problem than a funded team of ten.
Pre revenue, I secured a signed partner agreement with Plaid, built live integrations across Stripe, Affirm, Ramp, Google, and Microsoft, and passed Google CASA Tier 2, an independent security assessment.

Firms
Every warm lead has come from a firm, not from a direct SMB. We did not choose the firm channel. It chose us

Our March beta worked, and user feedback drove what came next, team sharing, payroll, and an expanded personal app.

05Business Model & Market
Revenue scales with usage, not just logos.

$95 per business, firms and enterprise from $295 a month, then we earn on top of every transaction, daily pay cashouts, processing, P2P, and float. The more they run on us, the more we make.

The firm door, leverage

One account, many client books. A six person practice keeping a hundred and forty sets of books is one sale and a hundred and forty businesses, each arriving with its own employees and vendors.
Together, a multi-billion-dollar market, and we earn more the more they run on us.
06Target Customer
Startups, small business, and the firms that run them.

Two doors into one platform. A business hires Bob as its first finance hire. A firm runs Bob across every client book. Our beachhead is the fractional layer, the fractional CFOs, CPAs and bookkeepers running many small clients at once. The tooling money is chasing the Top 100 firms. Nobody is building for a six person shop keeping the books for a hundred and forty businesses.

I know this customer. Thin margins, high turnover, a manager doing payables at midnight, and hourly staff who need money before payday.
Too big for spreadsheets, too small or too disconnected for the tools they have. Contractors are the natural next step.
07Competitive Landscape
Everyone automates the books. One of us moves the money.

Thirteen platforms, compiled from public product pages this month. The top rows are a fair fight. The bottom four are not.

Capability matrix comparing Paier against twelve AI accounting platforms

Even the consolidation splits the market in two. Accrual took the firm side, Puzzle keeps the small business side, and the two now run separately. Paier is the only one that serves both, moves the money, and puts everyone it touches on the platform.

08Competitive Advantage
The edge is structural.

Paier serves all four sides of a business, the owner, the team, the vendors and the finance pro, on one ledger, each with their own view. Every business we sign seeds its people for free, and they pull in the next at no acquisition cost. A competitor can ship any feature in a quarter. None of them can ship the fact that your vendor already has a login.

Copying it means giving the software away and building a network one invited counterparty at a time. Bill pay tools have vendors. Payroll has employees. Only Paier has all four on the same books.

09Why Now
AI just crossed from answering to doing.

An agent can finally run a back office instead of describing one, and the people who used to do that work are leaving the profession. That unlock is months old, not years. The same collapse in build cost let me ship this in 30 days.

Small businesses cannot hire a finance team, and the firms that served them are turning work away.
The consolidators went upmarket. Accrual took Puzzle’s firm technology in September and the two now run as separate businesses, one for firms and one for small business. Basis sits inside the Top 25. Rillet raised at a billion for the enterprise. The middle is unserved on purpose.
Workers expect daily pay, vendors expect a portal, and the agent economy is about to need accounting, payment rails, and payroll.
10Go To Market
Each customer brings the next.
Founder-led direct
Outreach plus a referral program rewarding well connected operators for intros and P2P invites. Bob runs outbound autonomously today.
Seed the team free
Every business I close seeds its whole team onto Bob, so each customer brings the next at near zero cost while competitors pay for every logo.
Carried to the next job
Those users carry Paier to their next employer.
Firms as channel
Accounting and CFO firms bring their whole book of clients, so one firm closed is a book of businesses, not a logo. It compounds the seed the team motion.
11Next Milestones
From flywheel built to flywheel proven.
Close the pre-seed and bring on a cofounder and a GTM lead, the first two seats on the team.
Run to our first 1,000 users and a minimum of $1M ARR, across small business and enterprise.
Land the first enterprise logos and get daily pay and P2P running at real volume. Passed Google CASA Tier 2, SOC 2 next.
Flywheel proof, in order. A vendor we transact with converts into a paying business. Then an employee carries Paier to a new employer. That second one is when the model self propels.
